Narrative

At 10:00 AM PST the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services issued an evacuation order for Oliveview Hospital and several skilled nursing facilities in Sylmar due to the fire.

Total resources requested were 8 BLS Ambulance Strike Teams and 1 ALS Strike Team. An additional 3 CCT Ambulances were also requested to evacuate 3 ventilator patients, and 7 Neo-natal patients from Oliveview Hospital. Units are responding to the staging area at 12638 Saticoy, North Hollywood, CA.

An ambulance strike team is composed of 5 similar type ambulances with a team supervisor deployed as a single resource.

Provider Commitments

AMR - 2 BLS and 1 AMR ALS Strike Team, and 1 CCT Ambulance

CARE - 2 BLS Strike Teams and 2 CCT Ambulances

WestMed McCormick - 2 BLS Strike Teams

Schaefer Ambulance - 2 BLS Strike Teams

 

11:00 AM - 2 Stike Teams from CARE arrive at the Staging Area, and the 2 CCT Ambulances arrive at Oliveview.

11:30 AM - Orange County FOAC Conference call held to poll for addtional resources if requested by LA County DHS.

2:00 PM - CARE Ambulance CCT resources finished their assigned transports, and are released from the deployment. The   (2) CARE BLS Strike Teams will be remain at the ambulance staging area until approximately 6:30 PM when a decison will be made to continue the deployment or stand down.

6:30 PM - All resources were released and the incident closed.
