Narrative

Care Ambulance was invited to participate in the Artesia 4th of July Chili Cookoff as part of the city's 4th of July activities. Bob Barry coooked the chili for Care's entry while the EMT's displayed the ambulance and equipment to family's in attendance..  The kids got to try out the ambulance equipment such as the crew's helmets and jackets. There was anticipation that LA County Fire with their firehouse chili would take first palce in the cookoff. The Sheriff's Department didn't care where they finished as long as it was ahead of the fire department.  When the judging was over, the Sheriff's came in second, behind the area tow company, and Care came in a surprising Third Place. County Fire to everyone's suprise, failed to place. Better luck next year.
