This drill was set up to test the response and capabilites of the EMS system in the event of a terrorist attack using a dirty bomb in an occupied building.  This scenerio involved the detonation of a dirty bomb inside the Hawaiian Gardens Casino.

To provide realism, victims were covered in red dye and corn syrup to simulate the contaminant.  The response involved HAZMAT units from the LA County Fire Department, and triage teams from nine local hospitals. Patients were triaged and decontaminated before being triaged.  Supervisor Don Knabe stopped by to observe the drill.
