Narrative

As part of the State of California's Disaster Preparedness Plan, the Department of Health Services authorized the purchase and deployment of (3) three 200 bed mobile hospitals. These hospitals will be prepositioned in strategic areas of the state and be deployed in the event of a major disaster. The goal is to have these resources positioned and set up within a 72 hour window.

The drill on August 25, 2007 was the first time the mobile hospital was deployed and set up as if responding to a real emergency. The hospital was erected and ready to be used in 63 hours.
